¶ Unable to detect USB printer during driver installation
Issue: The driver cannot detect the USB-connected printer, the user cannot click "next" and move forward in the driver installation wizard.
- The plug and play will now search for any USB attached printers. If the printer is not automatically recognized, restart your printer. Also verify the printer is not already installed.
¶ The printer driver needs to be updated
- Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
- Right-click USB Printing Support, and then click properties > Gernal > Change Settings
- Select Hardware > Properties > Update Driver
- Select Browse my computer for driver software, and then select the folder, HotLabel or 4BARCODE, where you have installed the printer driver. (If you can't find the folder, you can run the driver wizard again and then choose where to save your driver file)
- That’s it! The printer will now show up in Devices and printers as a local device. You can find it in settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners
