Do I need ink or toner?
No. HotLabel printers are direct thermal: heat turns the label's coating black. The only consumable is the label roll. Use direct-thermal labels — shop labels.
Which computers work?
Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 and macOS 10.13 or later, connected by USB. Chromebooks work with a printer description file, Linux with our installer.
Can I print from my phone or tablet?
Not directly — the printers connect by USB and have no Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Print from a computer, or share the printer from a PC on your network.
What label sizes can I use?
Any direct-thermal label from 20 mm to 110 mm wide, including 4 × 6 in / 100 × 150 mm shipping labels, and smaller product labels such as 60 × 40 mm or 40 × 30 mm. Set the size in Windows or Mac printer settings.
Why is my label small or sideways?
Your platform generated an A4 / Letter page. Set it to 4 × 6 once — platform guides — or crop the PDF. Details: Label too small, sideways or cut off.
Can I adjust print speed and darkness?
Yes, in the driver: Windows · Mac. Slower speed = darker, sharper print.
What's the difference between 203 and 300 DPI?
S8, M6 and M9 print at 203 DPI, which is perfect for shipping labels. M9HD and A300 print at 300 DPI for sharper small text and barcodes on product labels.
The printer isn't recognised
Check the USB cable and port, keep the printer on during installation, then follow Windows: not detected or Mac: not showing.
What warranty do I get?
1 year against manufacturing defects, plus free remote assistance for setup, troubleshooting and maintenance for the life of the printer. Contact us with your order number — see Contact.
